Hi everyone,

Welcome to my blog. I am Clémence Prosen. I am a French born artist living in Ireland.
I am an oil painter. I have been painting since 2013, starting with acrylics, and moving quickly to oil. I love oil as a medium, the texture, the things we can do with oil, that are impossible with acrylic.

I haven't had a lot of time to paint the past few years. I really liked drawing when I was a teenager, but after secondary school, art class wasn't available anymore. I don't think that I have ever seen being an artist as an option for a job, until recently, until I moved to Ireland, and art is everywhere, more than anywhere I have been.
In high school and university, I went to Science. I studied Biology and Food Science, and worked for the food industry since my graduation in 2007.

I tried several times to go back to art, but time was always a struggle, until I found a weekly class where I could make the time for it after work in 2014. It relaxes me, and makes me forget about everything else.
This year, I took the online class of the artist Roisin O'Farrell, and it encouraged me to paint more frequently. I have a routine now, but with a full-time job and two hours of drive, it is not always easy.
The course also motivated me to create this website and a Facebook page, Twitter, Instagram, to show my work and sell it (the links are on the left side of this page).

When I don't paint, I like to travel. I lived in Singapore, Netherlands, France and Ireland, and traveled in Europe, Asia and Oceania. I also like to eat good food, read and write.
I want to tell stories through my painting, share my feelings, thoughts, places that I enjoyed and relaxed me during my travels, share a part of nature, a book, a moment of life. I wish you to be moved, to feel and think, when looking at my paintings.
